Le Grand Vignaud, Chavenat, near Villebois, Charente

If you are looking for a relaxing break in one of the sunniest and most unspoilt regions of France, then look no further!

Le Grand Vignaud Gites offers comfortable family accomodation, set in a peaceful rural hamlet, with panoramic views over the surrounding valleys and woodland.

Ideally located within easy reach of Aubeterre, Bordeaux, Cognac and Royan, there are a wealth of interesting locations to visit. Or simply relax by the heated swimming pool, while the children enjoy the play area and make new friends!

There are four spacious gites, sleeping 4, 4, 6 and 8 (no fold-down beds!). Each gite has been recently renovated to a high standard, while maintaining traditional features such as exposed beams and charentaise stone walls. Each gite has a private patio/terrace, with barbecue facilities and the shared use of a heated, south-facing 11 x 5m swimming pool.

Onsite facilities include both indoor and outdoor childrens play areas and free use of bikes/tennis equipment.

We provide a welcome pack, which includes pasta, home-made bolognaise sauce, bread and wine to allow a convenient first-night meal. A specialized filtering system provides clean, refreshing drinking water.

Our gites are fully adapted for learning disability and visually impaired visitors (though no wheelchair access).  We can offer a respite service by qualified carers, affording families the opportunity to spend quality time with siblings, or just have some valuable ‘time out’.

We are happy to accommodate individual families or larger groups from organisations.  Our package can include airport pickup and shopping service.  Any aids required can be in place for your arrival, along with our usual welcome pack of essential provisions, including your first nights evening meal.
