Our English family owned and run campsite has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere which is situated in a unique and tranquil position directly on the River Dordogne. Set in 3.5 hectares of woodland with private access to the River. Most pitches are under mature trees, which provide excellent shade, and all have electric (10amp) and water points.
There is a butchers, mini mart, post office and an internet café a 2-minute walk away over the bridge where you can buy all your everyday items such as fresh milk, crossaints, pain au chocolat and postcards.
Should you just wish to relax in the summer sun the ideal place is our fenced in 17-metre swimming pool with decked terrace and grass areas.
We also have an under 10’s play area, table tennis, badminton, football and basket ball area.
On site we have a fully licensed bar serving soft drinks and local wines and beers but also International drinks such as draft Guinness and Kilkenny.
The restaurant is based on a Brassiere style cuisine using fresh local produce. Every taste is catered for from meat eaters to vegetarians. The children also have a fresh home cooked menu.
On a Tuesday evening throughout the summer traditional fish & chips are served and there are BBQ’s and theme nights throughout July and August.
Centrally located between Bordeaux 1 hours drive and Bergerac a 30 minute drive this makes Camping la Plage an ideal base for exploring this beautiful region and trying out some of the local wines. St. Emillion is a 20 minute drive away and the old Bastide town of Ste. Foy la Grande with it huge market every Saturday morning is a 15 minute drive away.
